Team Leader – 6 month contract (Maternity Cover)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented individual to join our team in Manchester as a Team Leader on a 6 month contract to cover Maternity leave.  You’ll be responsible for managing a team of operatives to deliver work safely and to production targets, job specifications, quality standards, and in line with customer requirements and Company processes and procedures.  You will achieve this by creating a motivated and high performing team, through effective management; by giving clear instruction, guidance, training, development, coaching and support; so that the team meets or exceeds all targets set.

As a Team Leader you’ll need to:

  • Ensure that health and safety is effectively managed within your team; and create a culture of awareness and safe working through your own behaviours, and by reporting any security, environmental, health, safety or quality incidents in the correct way.
  • Manage imaging and/or data capture projects from start to finish within your team, ensuring that work is progressed in line with the work instruction and scanning specification, and delivered on time, to budget, and to the correct quality standards.
  • Ensure that tasks are appropriately and clearly given to team members; being specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely; so that they fully understand what is required and the targets that they need to achieve.
  • Monitor progress against weekly performance targets; supporting team members to achieve or exceed targets, and dealing appropriately with those who do not.
  • Make recommendations for process changes to improve efficiency, encouraging team members to do the same, and discuss these suggestions with the Production Managers prior to any implementation so that any changes can be fully documented.
  • Effectively control and record staffing levels in the team, working alongside other Team Leaders as required. 
  • Monitor and report on team productivity, and identify trends and/or issues, and produce further reports, information, statistics, etc. for the management team as requested.
