Safer Internet Day 2018

Safer Internet Day began life as an EU SafeBorders project in 2004 and has since grown to encompass around 130 countries worldwide. The aim is to raise awareness of online issues such as cyber-bullying, grooming and radicalisation.

On 6 February this year Safer Internet Day is launching a new online safety MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) designed for teachers at http://bit.ly/OnlineSafetyMOOC. The course provides resources, tips and information to enable school teams to handle the diverse issues raised by ever-increasing time spent online.

Restore’s own Sian Couchman volunteers tirelessly at The Breck Foundation (www.breckfoundation.org), established in memory of 14-year-old Breck Bednar, who was murdered by his online groomer in 2014.
