10 things about Restore Datashred we’d like you to know...

Our task here today is to remind you of all the solid accreditations, standards and responsible activities we have achieved and continue to maintain that support those services, actions that offer our customers reduced risk and complete peace of mind.

Service

We are serious about shredding and serious about providing the very best service we can, each and every time. Our customers like what we do and consistently rate us as ‘Excellent’ on Trustpilot, a system we believe offers a true reflection of the service we give.

ISO 9001

The service quality standard provides you with a guarantee that our service processes are based on best practice. As part of ISO 9001, we have both BSEN15713, the European Shredding standard, and BS7858, the Staff Security Vetting standard – both of which are key parts of our security protocols and your confidence in our processes.

We are members of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM), which is the professional body for the waste management industry in the UK.

We are trusted by the NHS and are on their SBS Approved Framework supplier list, providing a compliant route for accessing confidential waste management services that have met strict NHS and public sector organisation criteria.

Security

Why is the security of personal and business data so important? Simply, because it’s the law. Any responsible organisation that strives to work to best practice standards should be aware of how it handles and processes data, and that includes end of life choices, too. Our transparent audit trail, unbroken chain of custody and certificates of destruction all work together to ensure your company’s data protection, even as the tiny shreds of paper, plastic and textile go on into recycling.

ISO 27001
This standard highlights our commitment to effective information security and means that all our employees are security checked to BS7858.

We are PCI-DSS compliant – the payment card industry data security standard is a set of standards designed to ensure that ALL companies that accept, process, store or transmit credit card information maintain a secure environment. It is an accreditation that must be achieved every year, so there’s no resting on our laurels.

Most important of all, in the current era of personal data protection regulations (GDPR), we are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) – as required by the Data Protection Act 2018. Our electronic product and computer disposal services are approved by the Federation Against Copyright Theft (FACT), as well as by the ICO.

Sustainability

Our final important area is our commitment to the world about us and the work we do to reflect this.

ISO 14001
We achieved this standard in July 2012 and adhering to it means we minimise any negative effects our operations may have on the environment, complying with laws, regulations and other requirements, such as continually improving our standards.

FORS Bronze accredited and Masternaut Gold Status
With 200 trucks and vans, fleet management is key for us and this includes the vehicles themselves – we’re starting to introduce electric vehicles, for instance, with all the environmental benefits they bring in terms of lower particulate and noise pollution. We use telematics for smart in-cabin management and monitoring, and advanced traffic management software to ensure our trucks and well-trained operatives reach you at the time agreed, by the most efficient route. Our FORS Bronze accreditation demonstrates we have achieved exemplary levels of best practice in safety, efficiency and environmental protection, while our Gold Status from European-wide telematics firm, Masternaut, puts Restore Datashred in the top 2% of the UK’s fleet operators for our year-on-year reductions in CO2 emissions and fuel consumption.

The Restore Datashred Environmental Report

We are a major recycling company – 100,000 tonnes of materials a year pass from us to be re-used as paper or energy – and our commitment to you is that we send 0% to landfill. We are proud of our track record and believe that our customers also want to know how many trees and how much water were saved, how much less CO2 was emitted, by sending all their paper, digital media and textiles to us for shredding and recycling. This information is contained in your personalised Environmental Report, available after each transaction. It’s a strong message to pass on to all your stakeholders, too.
