How would you react if you received a birthday present that meant you had to jump off a steep hill?
Michelle Harrison, a Contract Processor here at Restore Datashred, may have been a teensy bit taken aback at first when her husband presented her with a surprise hang gliding experience as a birthday gift… But she soon turned it to everyone’s advantage.
Not only was she going to get a bird’s eye view of the stunning South Downs in Sussex, but she made sure that her two favourite charities were going to benefit, too.
#TeamDemelza – is a community, a team, a band of people who pull together to create amazing experiences for the families, volunteers and staff at their three centres in South East London, Kent and East Sussex, centres that do wonderful things for families who have children with terminal conditions. The charity only survives through the amazing support of so many so they can provide the very best care for the children and their families. www.demelza.org.uk
Cancer Research – the nationwide organisation is close to Michelle’s heart and the obvious recipient of her adventurous efforts. www.cancerresearchuk.org
At Restore Datashred, we are always going the extra mile for our clients, and Michelle certainly went that extra mile! Getting such a glorious perspective on the landscape – and the peace and quiet of the actual flight – made all the nerves on Saturday, 8 September, worthwhile. Raising nearly £300 for her two charities was worth it, too. Well done, Michelle!
Now she is safely back down to earth, Michelle is hard at work ensuring our on site and offsite shredding customers are happy. Although whispers around the coffee machine say she is planning her revenge.
What do you think next year’s birthday present will be?!
