We are looking for an experienced operational manager with excellent leadership skills, to oversee our 8 operations sites across the UK and Ireland.  Ideally based at our head office in Manchester, you will be accountable for leading the operations and IT management teams to ensure that operational capability is delivered in line with contractual requirements and to high standards of safety, quality, customer satisfaction and efficiency; through the sharing of best practice, and high performing and engaged teams.  As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for designing and effectively executing the operations and IT strategy in line with the business strategy. You also will develop consistently applied, world class processes and systems, to drive performance and improvement, and work with the IT management team to drive collaboration between the operations and IT departments.

You will have excellent communication skills; be decisive, commercial, professional and approachable, with effective time management and organisational skills.  As a competent leader, you will be able to create a compelling vision of the future, and implement and manage change effectively whilst creating high performing teams.  Innovative and driven, you will seek improvements and developments, whilst ensuring that the day to day happens smoothly.  A strategic thinker, you will also be inspiring for your team and coach and develop them to deliver outstanding results. 

You must have demonstrable experience of leading an operational team successfully in a highly targeted production environment, where quality, cost control, customer service and the delivery of an end product to a certain standard and within specific SLA’s is the norm.  Ideally this experience will be in a document management or digital business.  You will also have experience of effectively managing profit and loss accounts, producing budgets, and leading change initiatives.  Good knowledge of health and safety legislation in relation to operational environments and IT systems (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are also essential.  A good general standard of education (ideally degree educated or equivalent) and a current driving licence are also needed for the role.
