Saffery Champness is a top 20 firm of chartered accountants and registered fiduciaries. The history of the firm goes back to 1855 when Joseph John Saffery, aged just 21, started in practice.
Our partners Restore Harrow Green delivered the business move for our client, while we carried out their IT move. We provided pre-move planning and advice, and attended all site meetings with our client’s project management company.
We decommissioned all their IT equipment, including 256 desktop PCs and their server at their old site and recommissioned the equipment at the new site. This involved a server cabling prepatch and UPS move. We worked alongside the IT infrastructure contractor to carry out patching works at desk positions and frame. Our expert team used specialist server cases and IT crates to ensure all the equipment was fully protected during transit. We then provided post-move support. We also supplied the cables needed for desk patching (floor port to phones and phones to IT).
For redundant equipment, we provided IT recycling and disposal services. Dilapidation was carried out by our engineers with all waste products disposed of at Restore Technologyh’s licensed recycling centre.
The desktop kit was decommissioned from 3pm on the Friday and recommissioned from 8am on Saturday. The server kit was decommissioned from 9pm and ready to hand over at 5am on Saturday. Everything was finished within the timescales agreed with our client.
