Going digital is always in the news but where does the digital journey actually begin?
When you consider that the first email was sent in 1971 and the first photograph uploaded to the web in 1992, businesses have had a long time to start their digital journey and join a paperless revolution. So, why is paper still with us?
Few, if any, organisations can afford the impact of data loss on their staff’s time or on their reputation. Ensuring all your business information is regularly backed up and stored safely off site means it is swiftly available for recovery should you be faced with systems failure, human error or an external disaster.
Restore Records Management’s Heritage Relocation and Storage scheme is one of the most unique offerings of its type in the industry, combining expertise with cutting edge technology to provide the Museum,Heritage, Library, and Archive sectors with a complete service for the handling and storing of artefacts ranging from entire museum collections to rare books.
We’d like to ask you a personal question: are you in control of your data? Do you know where everything is and can you access it right now? Today’s speed of corporate life and service expectations make it crucial to always hit the ground running. What if we said you could lock down your on-site chain of custody.
UK and European legislation outlines that certain records must be kept and appropriately cared for and, when the time comes, disposed of correctly. Failure to comply with the standards for records retention and management could result in a data breach, which could land you with a £500,000 fine and damage the reputation of your organisation.
Right now, the most important step for any business to take to become a more agile version of itself is to review the processes and systems you have in place to ensure they are the fastest, most accurate and most compliant working practices possible.

The Data Protection Act (DPA) 2018 applies to ‘controllers’ and ‘processors’. The definitions are broadly the same as under the Data Protection Act 1998, the controller says how and why personal data is processed, and the processor acts on the controller’s behalf. If you were subject to the previous law, you will be subject to DPA 2018.
