We serviced 13 MoD locations using 60 TUPE’d staff which we retained through the transition period. We carryed out over 6,000 major moves and over 10,000 minor moves each year over a five year period. To help cope with times of increased activity our branch network and supply chain provided additional support when needed.

The scope of service involved delivering, collecting and holding stocks of housing furniture and equipment. We ensure that:

• 100% of furniture items vital for habitation are delivered and in place five working days before the occupants move in
• Carried out all ordering, stock management, accounting and reporting including the preparation of future funding bids, budgets and forecast spend
• Managed the repairs, write-off and disposals processes
• Carried out minor furniture repairs (such as swapping drawers / replacing castors)
• Responsible for PAT testing of electrical items.

In the first year of operation we introduced a bar-coding solution to help track and manage furniture items allowing for a national stock rationalisation programme to be developed which helped reduce future spend on replacement items by making better use of existing furniture stock held around the country.

Following our appointment we were also entrusted to carry out emergency accommodation moves; this often involves large-scale house-to-house moves that needed to be carried out within 72 hours of notification.

Our long standing relationship with MoD Whitehall involved providing relocation services, crate hire, IT relocation, storage and furniture clearances within a highly sensitive and security focused environment.
