The Customer

Headquartered in Bristol, and with an extensive estate of UK testing centres, DVSA is the executive agency of the Department for Transport in charge of standards – for people and for the vehicles they drive. Their mission is to keep Britain moving safely and sustainably and maintain trust and confidence in the driving and vehicle industry.

Challenge

 

As a multi-sited organisation, keeping on top of collections scheduling and requirements can be a headache when trying to be agile, responsive, and budget-conscious. Previously, we had to rely on emailing our contacts, which could take time to elicit a reply, and meant our decision-making and planning was more rigid than we wanted.

 

Solution

 

Since moving to Restore Datashred’s destruction services, we have enjoyed our direct contact with and timely responses from the customer services and account management teams. But it’s the customer portal, Shred Smart, with its round-the-clock access, that has made an even bigger difference for us.

 

We can now see collection note data, the schedule of collections and can keep our sites aware, as well as make more efficient plans that enable the best value service for us. At our request, we have twice-annual fill level data supplied to us so that we can closely monitor and adapt the services as flexibly as we need.

 

The portal dashboard gives us access to our invoices and statements, so we can give accurate monthly management information in line with our own internal reporting systems. And in terms of compliance with data protection law and government supplier framework standards, we can stay up to date with Restore Datashred’s accreditations and memberships, particularly in the areas of security and sustainability.

 

We always receive the certificate of destruction following every collection, as proof for our records, and recently appreciated our first personalised environmental report. The number of trees not felled, and the water, energy and carbon emissions saved are recorded in this report, allowing us here at DVSA, to visualise the impact and results of Restore Datashred’s recycling and net zero commitments. All in all, the people and services at Restore Datashred have enabled our team to tailor what we receive so that it meets all our needs and values.
