Restore Information Management is excited to announce we have won The Innovation Award at the recent Public Sector Alliance Awards ceremony.
We lifted the Innovation in Records Management award in recognition of a project in which we helped the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) optimise and streamline their 28.5 million files that they held within their own storage facility.
Using bespoke software, developed in-house with our expert technical team, was key, along with the hard work and dedication of 120 colleagues who worked tirelessly around the clock to complete an exhaustive audit for the UK government department.
Our approach and solution to this unique project helped reduce DWP’s inventory by more than 50% and saw 2,200 tonnes of confidential waste securely and safely destroyed.
The project saw over 28 million files audited, and every record triaged, validated, and assessed for destruction.
Due to the volume of records and tight timescales, this required the creation of bespoke software that was user-friendly, accurate and super efficient.
Nigel added: “This audit tool, developed using our own expert technical team, took three months to build and test, and went live within four months. It shows innovation at its best in the records management industry.”
“We are extremely proud to win the award, which is thanks to the outstanding contribution of all our team. “This was a complex project, one of the biggest projects we have ever worked on – and one which generated significant cost savings on property for the DWP as well as lowering their future storage charges. “It also reduced the number of files they may want to digitise in future when the time is right, which would deliver even more cost savings for the department “We are delighted this work has been recognised by judges at the Strategy Networks Public Sector Alliance Awards, superbly delivered by ah!media”.
