WATCH: Sharing best practices for success in health tech transformation

We recently joined Health Tech News (HTN) for an HTN Now webinar, bringing together senior digital leaders from across the health sector to share best practices, lessons learned, and real-world insights from health tech transformation projects across the NHS.

The session focused on what drives success in digital programmes, from managing legacy paper and data challenges to embedding new technology, improving data usage, and delivering better patient outcomes.

Panellists included Simon McNair, our Head of Business Development for Digital Services, Simon Brown, Head of Digital at Royal Papworth Hospital and Tom Stocker, CHCIO and EPR Advisor.

During the discussion, the panellists reflected on a range of current and previous projects, highlighting the importance of clear vision, strong governance and realistic timelines. Simon McNair shared examples of paper-to-digital programmes supporting NHS investment in EPRs and clinical systems, outlining how secure record handling, cataloguing, and integration can underpin wider digital transformation.

The discussion also explored how success is measured in health tech. The panellists reflected on the limitations of traditional digital maturity assessments, sharing views on the need for clearer ambitions, meaningful KPIs and better use of data at specialty and service level to drive real change in care delivery.

The webinar concluded with a forward-looking discussion on continuous improvement, lessons learned, and the need for ongoing assessment as technology, policy and national programmes continue to evolve across the NHS.

Watch the webinar in full to hear practical insights from the panel on what works, what doesn’t and how NHS organisations and suppliers can work together to deliver successful digital transformation.
