We worked with National Grid on a fantastic enterprise which would see the donation of laptops to underprivileged school children and young adults across the UK. The project was carefully carried out during the Covid-19 pandemic to allow for home learning at a time when these students may otherwise have been unable to keep up with their studies.
With assistance from Restore Harrow Green, we supported UBS with a major donation of IT equipment to Bridge Academy in Hackney. All of Restore's services were provided free of charge in order to successfully carry out this fantastic initiative. The equipment is now used on a daily basis throughout the academy.
We were made aware that a social enterprise were in desperate need of laptops. The enterprise gives homeless people work experience and work placements in their restaurant to help them gain career opportunities. Our donation meant their apprentices could work towards their qualifications on-site, and we're delighted to have been able to help.
Beds & Cambs 4 x 4 Response are a ‘Highland and Lowland Urban support unit’. A specialist transport unit which can be deployed in times of need, providing transportation of specialist goods or moving people out of danger. They were looking to create a mobile operations unit which would require specific technical equipment. We prepared and donated the equipment they needed, and the unit will now be able to provide support in times of need across the region.
Sometimes the smaller donations can be incredibly rewarding. It came to our attention that a Northampton primary school were looking for some laptops in order to help support some of their children. These children were having to do their homework on their mother's phone, naturally with great difficulty. We donated laptops to the primary school to give the children a better means of learning. A small donation for us but hugely rewarding!
We also recently provided support for a great charity initiative. We facilitated the donation of desktops and monitors (from Greater London Authority) to SocialBox.biz, who will distribute them for use by homeless people, refugees, and others in need.
