The customer

One of the world’s largest professional services networks of independent accounting and consulting companies looking for support and advice to ensure the safe collection, storage and ongoing management of records and assets.

In April 2019, the FCA introduced a cap on interest and fees companies like BrightHouse could charge. With the onset of COVID-19 the government ordered the closure of all non-essential shops. BrightHouse was forced to close and finally shut all 240 stores.

Our customer was engaged to provide contingency planning advice and board support to BrightHouse and subsequently appointed administrators in March 2020 to manage the wind-down of the RTO, cash lending, servicing and warranty business as part of the recovery from creditors.

As a long standing customer of Restore Records Management, this Professional Services company looked to us for support and advice to ensure the safe collection, storage and ongoing management of records and assets. Due to the rapid closure of BrightHouse, they also had tight timescales for items to be picked up. Despite this being at the start of the first lockdown and all the logistical challenges this brought to businesses, Restore Records Management were quickly able to swing into action.

Initial consultations to identify the scope of activities were quickly converted to an overall project plan. With the support from our Operational Teams, a schedule of work was agreed upon and implemented to uplift, catalogue, and securely store the assets from Caversham Finance Stores and distribution centres. Assets were packaged and transported from locations all over the UK to our secure archiving facilities. To ensure future ease of identification, items were catalogued to the specific requirements of the customers.

We’ve been working with this customer for a long time and on this particular project we delivered swift recovery of items and hit timescales and budget.

Collected, catalogued, and archived over 41,000 boxes in a matter of weeks.
