Today is World Day for Safety and Health at Work – the perfect moment to reflect on what ‘health and safety’ really means in practice.
Health and wellbeing look different at every organisation, and every organisation has its own contributing factors. Keeping your team happy and healthy is an important responsibility, and at Restore Technology, it’s not a second thought; it’s how we work, how we listen, and how we act. Because of this, we can talk clearly about our progress, and we’re proud to pull back the curtain, showing how our robust processes keep both your information and our people safe.

This year’s focus on the psychosocial working environment resonates with the culture we’ve built and continue to develop.
It’s about more than simply physical safety – it’s about giving our team an empowering environment where they can speak up, raise concerns, and share their ideas on how we can improve every aspect of our business.
We’ve worked hard to make it easier for our team to share their thoughts because safety isn’t an accident. It’s the result of investment, culture, and vigilance.

EcoOnline – incident and accident reporting system
The most effective safety systems are the ones people actually use, those that make it easy to report hazards, near misses, and concerns as part of everyday work.
That’s why we’ve implemented EcoOnline across Restore PLC. Designed for simplicity, colleagues can report incidents quickly via QR codes, mobile, or desktop, removing traditional barriers to reporting and encouraging openness.
Reports are instantly visible to the right people, enabling real-time triage, investigation, and action tracking in one place. This gives us live oversight of risk across the business and allows us to respond quickly, identify trends, and prevent recurrence, moving from reactive reporting to proactive safety management.
Our accreditationsAccreditations in Health and Safety
Our ISO 45001 certification plays an important role in ensuring health and safety support is consistent across all our sites. It gives us a structured framework that helps us proactively manage risks, protect our people, and continually reduce the risk of injury across the business.

IOSH Managing Safely
Investing in people is also a big part of our culture – which is why we’ve become an accredited training location for IOSH Managing Safely courses to help build capability and promote safer working, not just in our business, but across the wider industry. So far, we’ve trained over 98 people leaders to make sure safety is included in every decision.
We recognise that needs evolve with different life stages. Health and safety at Restore Technology isn’t just about preventing accidents; it’s about supporting people physically and psychologically, whether that’s specific risk assessments for pregnant people and new mothers, or fair accommodations where they’re needed. We believe a confident and empowered workforce delivers the best results for our customers, our business, and our community – we’re dedicated to providing that environment for every member of staff, at every stage of their journey.
Our culture
Restore Technology focus: introducing Christopher Parsons
While we’re investing across the PLC, we’re also focusing on the risks that are unique to each of our Business Units specialist sectors.
At Restore Technology, our team process more than 1.5 million devices per year, covering a range of different equipment. That much tech adds up, so there’s a manual handling and storage element to our work. We support our team with clear guidelines and processes relating to manual handling to reduce impact and minimise risks. There are also electrical safety factors to working with electronic devices, and our team has the requisite training to stay safe while assessing, updating, and repairing equipment.
Leading the health and safety charge across our Cardington, Runcorn, Birmingham and Bristol sites is Christopher Parsons, our new Health and Safety Officer, whose incredible work we’re pleased to share:
Christopher joined the team earlier this year and brings more than 25 years of health and safety and training experience.
With roles spanning warehousing, logistics and manufacturing, Christopher has managed single locations through to an estate of 400+ sites. He’s already using his industry experience to enhance risk management, improve operational resilience, and ultimately make our sites an even safer place to work.
We asked Christopher what he thinks about health and safety in the workplace:
