Client: Advisory, Conciliation & Arbitration Service (Acas)
Sector: Public Sector
Project: Equipment Audits, Office Relocation, Equipment Refresh, Equipment Storage & Deployment, Internal Moves and Changes (IMAC)
Restore Technology provides a host of IMAC (Internal Moves and Changes) services to Acas, a partnership that has grown significantly over time. The relationship commenced with a focused remit to supply new laptops to starters and to recover equipment from leavers directly from our central warehouse based in Bedfordshire.
Recognising the efficiency and reliability of our initial service, the partnership evolved. We expanded our scope to provide a comprehensive suite of IMAC services, now covering 11 locations across the UK. This includes everything from large-scale office relocations and equipment refreshes to ongoing asset management and storage, all managed with a dedicated team of engineers who have become specialists in Acas’s specific protocols and requirements.

The end-user’s challenge
Deploying new equipment to all 11 Acas offices across the UK, recovering existing assets, and minimising disruption to staff. Additionally, relocating offices between buildings to support changes within Acas real estate, and tracking and storing Acas assets across the UK.
Restore Technology took delivery of all new equipment at our Cardington facility, located in Bedfordshire. This is tracked in the warehouse and held as stock. In addition to new equipment, repurposed equipment is also carried and tracked for redeployment as required.
For the equipment refresh project, engineers collected the equipment from the Restore Technology Cardington facility, delivered it to the Acas site, and installed it on arrival. Old equipment was decommissioned, and new equipment was unpacked, installed on the desk, tested, and signed off. Old equipment and waste packaging from the latest equipment were removed from the site on the same day. Once completed, a full site audit of all on-site IT equipment was conducted and provided to Acas within 24 hours of completion
The Restore Technology experience
Decommissioned equipment was then delivered and processed back at the Restore Technology Cardington facility, where it was recycled or repurposed. In addition to the refresh project, Restore Technology completes all office moves, whether within the same building or across buildings, as required.
Existing audit data is validated through a pre-move site visit. This data is then shared with Acas, who confirm the ‘from and to’ position data for each user, AP locations, server, and switch installation details, as well as meeting room / AV setups.
On the selected date, Restore Technology engineers execute the move, decommissioning all equipment, packing it into specialist packaging, loading it onto Restore Technology vehicles, and delivering it to the new site. Upon arrival, equipment is deployed to the desk, monitor arms are installed, and the equipment is connected and tested. A complete IT equipment audit is then provided to Acas detailing the location of all assets on-site.
In addition to these services, Acas can ‘call off’ equipment in stock for delivery and installation at any time to any location.

Restore Technology results
Restore Technology assembled a team of Acas-specific engineers, providing consistency in approach and offering familiarity to the Acas management team. All engineers were aware of the specific Acas processes, protocols, and equipment types.
The team deployed over 2,500 assets across 11 locations in the UK within the agreed-upon timescale set out by Acas. Restore Technology has relocated 5x offices within the last 12 months, all in secure government buildings.
By delivering these services and visiting each desk only once, combined with smart logistics, we have reduced the cost of deployment and asset recovery by 40%.
