Mobile on-site shredding for confidential documents
Comprehensive on-site shredding solutions.
As a business, you handle confidential information daily and are entrusted by your employees, customers, and suppliers to protect it. We help you maintain the utmost confidentiality and meet the requirements of data protection legislation by destroying items at your location, ensuring compliance and minimising the risk of unauthorised access.
Information leaks and data breaches can erode trust and damage your brand, business and bottom line. Our on-site mobile shredding services offer the highest possible levels of security for destroying no longer-needed confidential information, goods and materials. As the only shredding provider to be rated ‘Excellent’ on Trustpilot, you’ll know that, by working with Restore Datashred, you’re working with a company you can trust.
Whether you need paper documents or obsolete uniforms disposed of, once one of our mobile shredding vehicles arrives at your location we can shred them there and then, guaranteeing that nothing leaves the premises until it has been completely destroyed. Our uniformed Secure Collection Operatives are security-vetted and highly trained, so you can rest easy knowing your items are strictly controlled and always contained.

How our mobile on-site shredding services work
The irreversible destruction of confidential data is our top priority, and we want to ensure that it never falls into the wrong hands.
That’s why we throw a protective ring around your materials with our unbreakable process:
We deliver lockable bins
At a time and date that suits you, our BS7858-vetted secure collection operatives will deliver a lockable console or bin from our range for you to store your confidential waste.
When you’re ready, our operatives will arrive at your premises at a pre-arranged time in one of our GPS-tracked mobile shredding vehicles. They will verify their identity and sign in.
What happens on site
The operatives unlock your filled consoles and bins, and empty the confidential materials into a much larger, lockable wheelie bin, which is accompanied at all times while it is being lifted into the Datashred mobile shredding vehicle.
Once inside the vehicle, the operative unlocks the bin and attaches it to
the auto tipping mechanism
allowing the confidential data
to fall on the knives of the
shredder.
What happens after shredding
As part of an audited trail, we issue a waste transfer note and certificate of destruction and send them to you promptly. This serves as proof that your materials were destroyed in compliance with industry standards.
We send nothing to landfill, so all your shredded paper will be baled and sent for recycling into new paper products, plastics and textiles forwarded to UK specialists in repurposing and re-use.

Confidential waste should be properly separated to maintain security, ensure compliance, and promote environmental responsibility. Mixing sensitive materials with general waste risks data breaches and violates regulations like GDPR. Designated, secure containers should be used to separate paper documents, electronic media, and other materials, while staff training reinforces correct procedures.
This practice streamlines the shredding and recycling process, prevents contamination, and allows for efficient, secure destruction by reputable providers. Ultimately, careful separation protects sensitive information and minimises environmental impact. We offer many other services for businesses’ different waste streams to prevent contamination and optimise recycling processes.

We offer a range of frequencies for site visits (e.g. weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually. This is subject to availability and requirements regarding the proposed collection site and servicing requirements from the local operating centre which will handle the confidential waste collection.

Collections can range from 10 minutes to a full day. For example, if a client is having a small clear out then a simple sack collection will likely suffice. However, if a client has fittings such as fixed cabinets this could extend the time required, as our operatives might need to collect confidential waste and return to the secure collection vehicle several times. Additionally, a full day may be required for large clear-outs as part of office moves and decluttering. All collection times will be agreed upon with our clients in advance.

All collection notes, supporting paperwork and certificates of destruction will be sent to the nominated email address we hold on the system for customer accounts. Customers who opt for regular services can take advantage of our new customer portal, Shred Smart, which will provide access 24/7 to all documentation needed as part of their full audit trail when using our services.

We understand that sometimes things can go wrong. Therefore, depending on the circumstance we can look to arrange a shredding collection at the next earliest opportunity. Where any public holiday takes place, we will look to rearrange a collection date to the nearest possible revised date to suit the business – however, these are subject to availability.

You can easily recognise a Restore Datashred Secure Collection Operative (SCO) by their branded uniform and identification badge. All our SCOs wear distinct Restore Datashred attire so they are clearly identifiable. They also carry and display a company-issued ID badge, providing you with added assurance of their legitimacy and security clearance. This combination of uniform and ID ensures that only authorised and vetted personnel handle your confidential materials.

Once a shredding cabinet or console is full you can call us to arrange a secure collection at 0800 376 4422 or email customerhub@restore.co.uk. We will then work to arrange a suitable time and date for a collection vehicle to take away your confidential waste. Furthermore, you can visit our website and fill out the ‘Get in touch’ form and a member of the team will contact you within 24 hours to discuss your requirements in more detail.

For most standard paper documents, you do not need to remove staples or standard paper clips before shredding. Our industrial shredders are designed to handle these materials without issue. However, we do recommend removing large metal items such as binder clips, lever arch files, and large metal bindings, as these can cause potential issues with the machinery. This helps to ensure the efficiency and longevity of our shredding equipment and maintain the quality of our recycling process. If you have any concerns about specific materials, please don’t hesitate to contact our customer service team.

Our on-site shredding service is designed for efficiency and speed. The actual time it takes to shred your materials on-site depends on several factors, including the volume of documents, the type of materials, and the capacity of our mobile shredding vehicle. However, once returned to a secure operating centre our high-capacity shredders are capable of processing large volumes of paper very quickly.
