How our off-site shredding service works
We deliver your security system
One of our secure collection operatives delivers a secure, lockable cabinet, console or wheelie bin to your site or sites, at a time to suit you. In that way, all confidential materials, from paper to hard drives to textiles, enter the secure disposal stream and not the general waste.
Convenient collection times
Our uniformed operative arrives promptly at your workplace to collect all your confidential materials. They will show their ID to one of your team to sign in, start the electronic chain of custody, and then quietly collect all the bins required.
Chain of custody from your site to ours
All the locked bins are logged and taken directly to our vehicle where they are secured. The GPS-tracked truck or van drives to the Restore Datashred destruction centre closest to you. Every step of the journey is electronically recorded. This creates an audit trail and proof of an unbroken chain of custody, for your peace of mind.
A prompt shred
All shredded material is sorted into 500kg bales and stored in secure and compliant depots before being processed and pulped.
After each shredding transaction we will send you a waste transfer notice and, on completion, a certificate of destruction. It’s that simple and reliable.

After your documents are shredded at the facility, the shredded material is usually baled and sent to recycling centres.
Off-site is highly secure, we follow strict chain of custody procedures and our facilities are equipped with advanced security measures to ensure that your confidential information remains secure.

Restore Datashred shred to the new BS EN 15713:2023 Security standards that were introduced in April 2024 (previously the standard was BS EN 15713:2009).

Most customers will have a master key to access any secure receptacles on-site. However, if this is not the case please contact the Customer Portal and we can discuss the best way to retrieve the item.
