Restore Datashred is incredibly proud to celebrate the recent success of Basingstoke Strikers, a fantastic football club we have had the privilege of sponsoring and supporting.
On Sunday 12 July, the Strikers achieved something truly special, winning the Woking FC tournament after more than 10 years of trying. It was a landmark moment for the club and a brilliant demonstration of determination, teamwork and the power of inclusive football.
They did it in style, with the Basingstoke Strikers C Team producing a memorable performance to win the final 7–2.
A Historic Day for Basingstoke Strikers
The Strikers travelled to Woking ready to give it everything, with an incredible 22 players representing the club despite temperatures reaching around 30°C.
With enough players to enter three teams into the five a side football competition, there was plenty of action throughout the day. Each Strikers team competed in four 15-minute matches, recording some excellent wins and battling through closely contested games.Every player represented Basingstoke Strikers with pride, showing the commitment, enthusiasm and team spirit that make the club so special.
However, it was the Basingstoke Strikers C Team who went on to steal the show. After winning all their group matches, the team progressed through the competition and earned their place in the tournament final.
A Final to Remember
The Strikers made a flying start, taking a 1–0 lead before Woking responded to bring the score level at 1–1.
With the pressure building, the Strikers showed exactly what they are made of.
The team dug deep and played with determination, confidence and pride in their Restore Datashred sponsored shirts. Their resilience paid off as they took control of the match.
What followed was a fantastic display of football.
The Strikers produced an outstanding team performance, combining skill, hard work and togetherness to take the game away from their opponents. By the final whistle, they had secured a remarkable 7–2 victory, earning their place in Basingstoke Strikers history.
After more than a decade of trying to win the tournament, they had finally done it.
