World Day for Safety and Health at Work is an opportunity to pause and consider what health and safety really looks like in day‑to‑day life. While every organisation faces its own challenges, the responsibility to protect and support people at work is universal.

Across Restore, health and safety isn’t treated as a tick‑box exercise or an afterthought.
It’s embedded into how we operate, how we listen to our colleagues, and how we make decisions. That’s why we’re open about the progress we’ve made and confident in sharing how our systems, processes, and culture work together to protect both our people and the information we handle.
This year’s international focus on the psychosocial working environment strongly reflects the culture we continue to build. Health and safety goes beyond managing physical risks — it’s also about creating a workplace where people feel supported, confident to speak up, and comfortable sharing concerns or ideas that help us improve.
Safety doesn’t happen by chance. It’s driven by ongoing investment, clear accountability, and a collective commitment to doing things the right way.

EcoOnline – reporting incidents, accidents, and concerns
The most effective health and safety systems are the ones colleagues genuinely engage with — systems that fit naturally into everyday work and make it easy to raise concerns, report hazards, or flag near misses. That’s why EcoOnline has been rolled out across Restore PLC. Designed to be simple and accessible, it allows colleagues to submit reports quickly using QR codes, mobile devices, or desktop access, removing traditional barriers to reporting and supporting a culture of openness.
Once submitted, reports are immediately visible to the right teams, enabling timely review, investigation, and action tracking in a single platform. This real‑time visibility helps us spot trends, address risks early, and move from reacting to incidents to proactively strengthening safety across the business.

Accreditations that support safer working
Restore businesses are proud to hold recognised health and safety accreditations that demonstrate the strength and maturity of our approach. The RoSPA Gold Award recognises organisations with well‑established occupational health and safety management systems and positive safety cultures. It reflects more than written policies — it shows that our approach is effective in managing risk and maintaining consistently low levels of harm.
In addition, ISO 45001 certification provides a structured framework that ensures health and safety support is delivered consistently across our sites. It helps us identify risks early, apply controls effectively, and reduce the likelihood of injury across our workforce.

Developing people through IOSH Managing Safely
A strong safety culture is built by knowledgeable and confident leaders. That’s why we continue to invest in people development, including becoming an accredited provider of IOSH Managing Safely training. Through these courses, we’ve equipped over 98 people leaders with the skills and awareness needed to embed health and safety into everyday decisions — not just within our own teams, but across the wider industry.
We also recognise that people’s needs change over time. Health and safety at Restore isn’t limited to accident prevention; it includes supporting colleagues physically and psychologically. This means carrying out tailored risk assessments, providing adjustments where required, and creating an environment where everyone feels supported at every stage of their working life. We believe that when people feel safe, listened to, and empowered, they deliver better outcomes — for customers, for the business, and for the communities we operate in.

Specialist expertise
While we take a unified approach across the Group, we also recognise that each business unit faces its own unique risks. That’s why we focus on applying health and safety principles in ways that reflect the realities of different environments, operations, and specialist activities. Clear procedures, targeted training, and ongoing support help ensure risks are managed effectively and consistently.
Supporting this work is our dedicated health and safety expertise. With extensive industry experience across sectors such as warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, and multi‑site operations, our health and safety leadership plays a key role in strengthening risk management, improving resilience, and making our workplaces safer every day.
